The fifth generation computers

TECH NEWS:

The fifth generation computers having characteristics as follows:
1. start the PC mass produced in 1980 by IBM, which is famous for the IBM-PC, which subsequently conquered intl for Microsoft to hardware and software.
2. The process used is the 8088/8086 that set the standard for computer time, which uses a 16-bit process with base by one time.
3. development has done with what's called the Josephson Junction, the technology will process billions of operations per second (while the chip technology is only able to process billions of operations per second).
4. the computer is able to translate human language, human beings can directly chat with computers as well as energy-saving computer. This wonderful nature are known as "artificial intelligence" GUI-based multi media, and multi-channel communication.

Examples of computers that are born on the fifth generation of x 86-based, such as the 286 chip at introduction in 1982 with 134.000 transistor, 386 chips then in 1983 with 275.000 transistors, while chip 486 was introduced in 1989 which has 1.2 million transistors. Next on the 1993 family of processors introduces Intl 586 who introduced the term Pentium 1 with number of 3.1 million transistors to do 90 MIPS.

Then continue on the next generation i.e. pentium 2, 3, and 4. At the end of the year 2000, intel introduced the pentium 4, which is the last processor in intel 32 bit withfamily (IA-32). Intel Announces itanium processors in 2001 (code named merced).which is the process of with 64 bit architecture (IA-64). Itanium is intel's first processor with instruction-instruction 64 bit and will spawn a new generation of operating systems and applications, while still maintaining backward compatible with 32 bitsoftware.
